If he is my enemy, who is this friend? - Nice Article

While surfing the net, i came across a very nice article by Ajay Brahmatmaj, a journalist based in Mumbai. This article was published in INDIAN EXPRESS.

Here a Hindu talk about his Muslim friend.

In this article, Authors's father has muslim friend Sayeed Miyan who was an extended member of Hindu family, authors itself has muslim friend called Khursheed Anwar, who despite his busy schedule, get disturbed when he gets news of author's sickness And there is author's daughter's friend Ali too.
Hindus and Muslims. Are these two distinct identities or are they both only two sides of a coin? … I believe that we are Hindus or Muslims because our background and our families, but most of us are not such Hindus or Muslims that want to destroy the other. Even though we live among suspicions, and it is true that some forces want to use us against each other, like fodder in their cannon.

After reading the article, I'm just thinking....Definately, author's daughter's children will have a Muslim friend. This is story will continue.....

Islamic banking can help Bankruptcy of US banks

The fall of giants in the world financial sector like Lehman Brothers in the aftermath of the US sub-prime mortgage crisis proves one thing certain: we need to be strict about credit rating system to restrain chances of any further bankruptcy.

Interestingly, since Islamic banking adheres to strict credit rating system and disallows indebted economic agents to avail more debt finance, it such a system could better save our financial and economic enterprises from bankruptcy.

Since interest is strictly prohibited in Islamic banking and principles of equity finance disallow financing the indebted enterprises, chances of bankruptcy are considerably low.

Under Islamic banking equity finance needs pre-rating analysis of projects after reviewing cost yield analysis. Islamic banking principles thus reduce the cut throat competition in financial sectors to get more credit shares and provides stability in the financial market.

What Uttar Bhartiyas shoud know in Mumbai

On February 2008, Raj Thackarey again raise old issue of migration into Mumbai from other part of India. Raj wants local Marathi population (Marathi Manoos) to come up in all field and all Uttar Bhartiyas (literally meaning 'people from North India') should left the city.

Here are some points which Uttar Bhartiyas shoud know:
  1. Why Raj only target people from UP & Bihar, Mumbai has many people from state of India For example there many in Mumbai are from South. Why Raj don't say that "All people from south should leave from Mumbai". Raj will not do this. Because people from South have very good position in all public and private sector companies. People from know how to get their rights? Why?

    Education

Yes, many people from UP and Bihar who come to Mumbai are illiterate. Because of this illiteracy they don't what are their rights.

  2. People from UP and Bihar don't try to understand local culture of Mumbai. They don't ever try to learn Mumbai local language Marathi.

why Bombay renamed to Mumbai

Have you ever wonder why Bombay renamed to Mumbai? Not only Bombay, major cities that have been renamed include Thiruvananthapuram (formerly Trivandrum), Chennai (formerly Madras), Kolkata (formerly Calcutta), Pune (formerly Poona) and Bengaluru (formerly Bangalore).

This were carried out in response to the demands of the Hindu Nationalist Shiv Sena party and many Hindu fundamentalist group. This renaming was part of the Shiv Sena's Bhumiputra (son of the soil) policy, it is an attempt to erase evidence of the city's cosmopolitanism and multi-lingual character.

We all call our country 'India' today. Tomorrow if someone comes and changes it to Hindia (for hinduism and all those things), then shall we accept it?

Above all, it damages the brand value of the city. today, no one in US would like to call Bangalore as Bangaluru. Even I, being an Indian don't like that.

These politicians should look at some constructive things rather than changing the name of Bombay to Mumbai, Ahmedabad to Amdavad, Bangalore to Bangaluru, Madras to Chennai, Calcutta to Kolkata and what not.

So why to go for these name changes? We have lots of important things to look at. Am I wrong?
